Cheeky Whistles Purchase

On a recent outing with my sister to Leamington Spa, we came across a Whistles section in the House of Fraser store (initially we both needed the toilet but after I was totally drawn in to the clothes...), and after browsing through what they had to offer, we came across a display of their iconic clutches. I've been wanting one for a while now and decided that it was a perfect opportunity to splurge on this bright blue medium clutch. It's a minimalist design but perfect to give an outfit a pop of colour, and looks oh so luxe. I also decided on this metal and cord bracelet because I've been wanting more jewellery pieces to add with my Michael Kors watch. Shop Whistles here.

Night Time Skin Saviours

Sleep is essential to help replenish the body and a good night time skincare regimen should go hand in hand. I like to focus on locking in moisture and so gravitate towards products that will deeply nourish and regenerate skin cells to leave smooth, plump skin in the morning. I rotate the products I use, depending on my skin's needs and whether I'm having a bad skin day. I also strip back and use the La Roche Posay Effaclar duo if I feel like the products are too heavy for my skin, aka if I feel like I'm about to have a major breakout. I also occasionally opt for a sheet mask, which is a cloth film that is loaded with serums to help boost the skin's appearance. Here are a pick of my five favourite overnight masks and serum products to use...

Laneige Water Sleeping Pack_EX
Highly popular in South Korea and slowly making it way across the shores, this light textured gel absorbs right into the skin without feeling heavy. It also helps to brighten the skin and leaves skin hydrated come morning. This is my second tub, so it's a definite indication that it's a keeper!

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recover Complex
A cult product within any woman's skincare stash is this serum from Estée Lauder that revitalises your skin while you sleep. It leaves skin nourished and hydrated, and by the time you wake up, you can notice that your skin is fresher and more radiant looking. On my lazy days in when I'm going barefaced, I also like to use this for extra intense hydration. Just note that this serum has been upgraded to Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II, which claims to have even better results than the original serum.

Sarah Chapman Skinesis Overnight Facial
An overnight essence to leave skin healthy and dewy. With a mix of nutrients, antioxidants and brighteners, it evens out skin texture and helps to repair daily damage. When contemplating buying it, a lot of people were put off by the scent, but I rather like it! Only one pump is needed, as a lot goes a long way, and although I've only recently bought this, its definitely become one of my staple go-to products that I can't live without.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron
Another beauty cult is this serum from Indeed Labs which contains a pure form of hyaluronic acid that holds up to 1000x its own weight in water. This helps to boost moisture levels in your skins, leaving a healthy and glowing complexion. Simply use a pea sized amount on cleansed skin and then apply your moisturiser as usual.

Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask
This mask, infused with avocado oil and apricot kernel oil, definitely quenches skin's thirst! (Probably why its called an intensive mask...) With Japanese seaweed to repair the skin's barrier to prevent future hydration and signs of aging, this not only smells amazing, but definitely gives your skin the nutrition it needs. I use a pea sized amount to smooth over skin, and wipe off the residue with a tissue so it doesn't clog the skin too much. If you think this mask is going to be too heavy for your skin, Origins also do a 10 minute mask that you rinse off instead.

It's All About The Eyes

So, I've wanted to stray away from my everyday-go-to black liquid eyeliner and see what else the drugstore has to offer in the eyes department. Here is a  haul that I did probably a couple of months ago (I know i'm late on posting but I'm still new at this so bear with me...)

1. Maybeline Brow Drama in Dark Brown
This brow mascara is good for setting brows but sadly doesn't do much in terms of colour as my brows are black so the brown doesn't really show up. Maybe not a must have item but I still use it on a regular basis anyway.

2. Loreal Super Liner Gelmatic in Deep Violet
A deep purple liner is great if you want something that's not a black but gives your eyes some definition without being too over the top during the day. I love the colour of this and the formula glides on so well when being applied.

3. Maxfactor Wild Shadow Pencil
Great for when you're on the go and don't have much time to spare. Simply glide onto eyelids and blend in with your finger. Simple! It also doubles as an eye liner too which is a bonus.

4. Loreal Colour Riche LeKhol in 104 Icy Cappuccino
A mid brown liner that helps to soften the eyes and give that 'no makeup' vibe. Easy to glide on but I would have preferred it if it was slightly darker as it doesn't show up enough for my liking.

Clothes, Clothes and more Clothes...

With our internet being down for a reason that I won't bore you all into, it meant that I haven't been able to post anything up until now (and even now our internet still isn't working *sigh*). So apologies for that but to cheer you all up I'm here to share my recent clothing purchases with you all; the result of 3 shopping trips and a nice big dent in my bank account...

YSL Rue de Babylone Blush Collector Palette

What better way to start my first post than to write about one of my favourite makeup items, blusher! I'm a total sucker for blush: from innocent pinks to vivid corals, blusher adds the final touch to any makeup ensemble, and although I probably don't need any more to add to my stash, I couldn't resist this piece from YSL.

This limited edition blush is inspired by the pulse of the Paris Rive Gauche streets and contains a heart shape center embossed with the YSL logo. The cutesy pink shade is a perfect match to pale skin tones like mine and the product glides on so nicely when applied. One tip though... don't go too heavy handed on the blush as it is very pigmented! Just a light hand will do (as I found out the hard way), and if you want more colour then gradually build up the intensity. I'm not sure if shops in the UK still sell these as they are limited edition, but I got mine at boots around a month ago after the sales lady completely sold me on how cute the packaging was... and the product itself of course, but it might be worth asking around anyway! Otherwise, you can buy it internationally here.
